I challenge you to up your game on LinkedIn in 2024.

As for me, at a minimum, I commit to posting more often on my company page, taking more advantage of the features of Sales Navigator, and publishing a monthly newsletter through LinkedIn.

Make More Use of My Company Page

Do you have a company page for your business on LinkedIn? Even if you have a one-person business, there’s value in having a company page. One of the benefits of having this page is that creating it and posting to it will increase your company’s SEO.

The article “How to Boost the SEO of Your Organization’s LinkedIn Page” has several suggestions I appreciated for optimizing your page.

  • “Add key words to the beginning of the tagline on your company page. Think of it as your elevator pitch.
  • Keyword optimize the page’s “About” section with your organization’s values, mission, and goals.
  • Completely fill out the business profile of the page, including relevant links and company details.
  • Post long-form content that matches search demand.
  • Update your page frequently to show search engines your commitment to fresh content.”

Take More Advantage of Having Sales Navigator

Sales Navigator is one of the premium accounts available to LinkedIn users. The least expensive type of these accounts is Career Premium at $40 per month, and the least expensive version of Sales Navigator is $100 per month.

This type of premium account could be a good investment for many salespeople and B2Bs (businesses who sell to other businesses).

Quoting from the article “What is Sales Navigator?” by Sean Callahan:

“At its core, Sales Navigator helps sales professionals successfully perform three of the most critical functions involved with their discipline.

  • Target: Quickly identify and learn about people and companies that are a likely fit for your product or service.
  • Understand: Track key developments at target accounts, such as decision-makers changing jobs or indicators of buying intent, to act on opportunities as they arise.
  • Engage: Connect and converse with prospects within a ready-to-do-business environment while tapping into the full extent of LinkedIn’s messaging and content-sharing capabilities.”

Start Publishing a LinkedIn Newsletter

One of the features available to users of the creator mode function of LinkedIn is the ability to publish a newsletter through LinkedIn.

Instead of publishing articles individually, as you would when you post, you can publish them through your branded newsletter. LinkedIn gives you the option of publishing weekly, twice a month, or monthly.

Learn more about LinkedIn newsletters and the benefits of publishing them via this piece in the LinkedIn help center.

I found this section incredibly helpful:

“You can leverage newsletters on LinkedIn to talk about a professional topic you’re passionate about on a regular basis. LinkedIn members can subscribe to your newsletter to be notified about new articles you publish, allowing you to build and grow a regularly engaged audience.

Starting a newsletter on LinkedIn means you’ll engage your audience from the minute you publish. LinkedIn makes it easy to invite all your connections or followers to subscribe when you create a newsletter. Also, after publishing each newsletter article, push, in-app, and email notifications are sent to all your subscribers to help drive views. You’ll get real-time feedback and comments from your readers, and you can understand how your content is doing with analytics.

When a member starts following another member or a page with newsletter, a notification inviting them to subscribe to the newsletter is automatically sent.”
