Have you wondered how the impact of words of appreciation can reverberate throughout your circle and beyond?

Last week, I provided a complimentary LinkedIn session to Eric Moore, a 24-year-old college student whom I met early this year. He’s from Liberia and goes to college in New Delhi, Delhi, India.

We connected when he inquired about joining one of my Toastmasters clubs. It has a hybrid format and meets on a Saturday at a time that fit his schedule. Toastmasters is an organization through which you can improve your communications and leadership skills. As it happened, it didn’t work out for him to join my Toastmasters club, but we have continued to stay in touch.

Recently, he told me that he was looking to land an internship and needed to improve his LinkedIn profile. On occasion, I’ve provided a free LinkedIn session to a high school or college student. I do this when I especially resonate with the young person, and that certainly was the case with Eric. So I happily provided him an hour of my time.

After the session, I asked if he would write me a LinkedIn recommendation, and what he wrote blew me away. I hope his heartfelt words of appreciation for me will inspire you to help someone like I’ve helped him.
