Recently, I was honored to share a presentation on this topic for members of the Volunteer Voyageurs Passport Rotary Club. Members of this club live in southern Alabama and attend meetings virtually through Zoom. They really appreciated getting these tips and were excited to start applying them. In case you’re not familiar with Rotary, here’s a description of it from Wikipedia: “Rotary International is an international service organization which brings together [...]

Many thanks to Alison Proffit and Amanda Mundo, for creating such a heart-filled and information-packed event. Alison, owner of Proffit Coaching, is the creator of the summit. Amanda, owner of Social Hero Brands, is the co-creator. Amanda is on the left, and Alison is on the right in  the photo just above this blog post. Wondering Whether to Accept a LinkedIn Connection Invite?

Do you find yourself wondering whether to accept a LinkedIn connection invite? Many of my clients struggle with this. Keep in mind that unless you change your default setting, everyone who connects with you can see all your connections. Be wary of casually accepting an invite to connect, because that person’s motivation may be to access your connections. They may not be genuinely interested in you.   Deciding Whom to Connect with on LinkedIn Everyone takes a slightly different approach regarding accepting LinkedIn invites. In general, I advise my clients to be selective about whom connect they with on LinkedIn. [...]

In-Person Business Networking is Back!

I’m delighted that in-person business networking is back! As an off-the-chart extravert and compulsive connector, it feels great to be seeing people face-to-face again. My very first in-person business networking event since the pandemic started took place this week. I attended Women in Business, an offering of the West Metro Chamber of Commerce, my local chamber. At this monthly program, geared toward women business owners, we have terrific speakers and plenty of time to mingle with each other. Each month we have a different sponsor, and this time Colorado Credit Union both sponsored and hosted the event. Shauna Brazil, Director [...]
