Are you a sports fan? Do you follow your favorite sports team on Twitter or on Facebook?
It is also fun to search YouTube if you want to see interviews with your favorite players or highlights from a key game.
College and professional football fans are chomping at the bit for the football season to take off. Or perhaps you are still rooting for your favorite baseball team to win the World Series.
Since my Colorado Rockies keep falling into a downward spiral, I am turning my attention to football, which is my very favorite sport anyway.
As a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan and University of Wisconsin Badger fan, I love that I can easily track these teams and their players through Facebook.
One of the beauties of liking the Facebook page of your favorite teams is that you get frequent updates about the team’s activities. It is also fun to click on the Share button if you see a Facebook friend post about any of your teams.
Even though I may not get to see my fellow sports fan in person that often (especially my friends who live out of state), we can cheer collectively in cyberspace for the teams (and the players) we love.
What social media do you use the most as a sports fan? Perhaps it is a mix of several different ones.
Have your social media habits changed over time? Maybe you now gravitate more to Twitter than to Facebook, for example.
Please share your thoughts with me. Always happy to hear from my readers.

Olympics Is social media. Events streamed live through the Internet allows viewers to select what, when and where to watch. NBC’s newest addition, Ryan Seacrest–sitting next to Bob Costas–reports on social media trends related to the games.
In another four years, we’ll see drastic changes in TV Olympics coverage, or maybe none at all in lieu of the popularity of live streams and viewers’ ability to share their reactions and comments on social media platforms.
I’m glad there’s an option. Streaming video is the only way I can watch synchronized swimming, my favorite sport. On TV, the the great routines are shown on TV sporadically, during odd hours.
Janet,
Thanks for bringing up the Olympics, as I was thinking of them last night when I was writing this post. I agree that we will see some dramatic changes over the years in terms of how the Olympic events are shared with the public, and social media is already playing a big role in the changes we have seen so far.

Hey dear Marilyn! I am so excited to hear from you! I fimlry believe we are here to inspire each other! I ran to the kitchen to get my granola recipe and my book is missing but no worries I will find it and send it along! One of my favorites. I used to make it for my sons when they were little! Good for you for wanting to get back on track. I get derailed every now and then and find my way back aboard the train! I went 100% raw a year 1/2 ago when I became really ill with a chest infection. It was wonderful as a cleanse, I eventually felt I had to introduce cooked food again. I listened to my body I went to about 60 % raw. I honestly believe the individual answers for each of us are in our own bodies! As far a gardening, putting a couple of tomatoes plants in pots on your balcony would be fun! It is getting kind of late in the season for tomatoes but if you can find plants that are really large and in bloom you may be ok! They need full sun if possible and a cage wire to hold them up and a good organic feritlizer (you can buy these at any garden center)Also plant some leaf lettuce in a long tray on your balcony and have lettuce all summer. It grows really fast. You just cut it off at the roots when it is large enough to eat and it will continue to keep growing! SO fun!I do not think I have a RSS feed so I will check into this! Thanks.Stay in touch!Blessingslots of love Joyce
Thanks so much, Mirian for this post, and my apologies for not responding sooner or allowing the post through – it got caught in a spam filter. Joyce
Posted on Do you people have a faocebok fan page? I looked for one on twitter but could not discover one, I would really like to become a fan!
Hi Bery – you can find my Facebook page by searching Boomers’ Social Media Tutor, and I would be most honored if you became a fan. On Twitter, my handle is simply my name of joycefeustel as for the life of me I couldn’t figure out a good way to smoosh Boomers’ Social Media Tutor into the characters allowed for a handle.
