Ever get the feeling that as soon as you get the hang of how a social media site is laid out that the format changed on you?

Facebook is probably the biggest “culprit” in this department. Sometimes it feels like a full time job to keep up with their changes.

Just tonight on Pinterest, I found this a pin to this helpful blog post: http://normadoiron.net/facebook-update-increases-audience-engagement/

Thank you, Norma Doiron, for letting us know that visuals will matter more in the new look of Facebook, as will the “likes” of a Facebook page. Quality content was always important, yet it will be even more important with this new look.

Speaking of Pinterest, I also found a pin to this link: http://mashable.com/2013/03/20/pinterest-redesign-infographic/

In this article “Everything You Need to Know About the New Pinterest,” Stephanie Buck does a superb job of showing us the changes in Pinterest, including what is no longer found there. For example, you can use a hashtag, but it is no longer searchable. Also, you can’t tweet a pin while pinning something.

Fortunately, there are no major changes on Twitter at the moment, nor on LinkedIn, my other two social media sites that I frequent.

Please let me know what you think of the new look on Pinterest. Also, once the new format of Facebook comes out, I would love to hear your feedback on that.

One thing I hope to do with this blog is help to create a dialogue on how people are using different kinds of social media and their opinions about them.
