Hats off to SHE Leads Group and especially to its founder, Beth Boen.

This week I had the opportunity to attend two functions of the SHE Leads Group. On Monday, I participated in a very lively virtual business-category-exclusive speed networking event. Today, I visited their Coast-to-Coast B2B Virtual Chapter, and was very impressed with the group.

Beth created SHE Leads Group in 2016 to offer women more than a traditional leads group.

Specifically, it provides:

  • Business development training at every meeting
  • Business category exclusivity in multiple categories
  • Schedules that honor professional women in business
  • Local, professional, established and reputable businesses
  • Membership levels to meet the needs of its members

Why I’m Impressed with SHE Leads Group

I’ve spoken on LinkedIn at two quarterly all-chapter/all-guest meetings over the last couple of years. I found Beth to be a delight to collaborate with. Not only did she do a remarkable job of promoting these events, her follow-up afterwards was always impeccable.

I truly enjoyed presenting to and interacting with the high-energy, positive members and guests. Several shared their own experiences with using LinkedIn and asked a wide range of questions.

The clients I’ve gained as a result of these events are wonderful to serve. They are so appreciative of my tutoring services and have spread the word to others about me.

Considerations When Selecting a Business Networking Group

Earlier this fall, I wrote a LinkedIn post about how much I like being in my Aging Well Leads Group with the West Metro Chamber. In that post I wrote: “We need to find the networking groups with which we truly resonate.”

In the last month, I’ve been reviewing the networking groups I’ve been active in to determine if I want to stay involved in them. I’ve also visited several different groups during this period.

When it comes down to it, the main attributes of groups I want to stay in or potentially join are:

  • Friendliness of the group – especially to first-time guests
  • The degree of support the members show for each other
  • Whether the group is energetic and the meetings are lively
  • Types of education provided by the group members, such as tips on marketing, goal setting, etc.
  • Follow-up by the group leader with visitors and members
  • Whether the meeting is well-run and stays on schedule

And in case you are wondering, I’m strongly leaning toward joining the Coast-to-Coast B2B Virtual Chapter of the SHE Leads Group.
