Do you celebrate your communities on social media? My communities include my business networking groups, Toastmasters clubs, faith community, and more.

For this blog post, I’ll focus on my business networking groups. They include:

Why I Value Being Part of My Business Networking Groups

  • The meetings are educational, positive, and supportive. I tend to leave feeling inspired and motivated when I attend the meetings.
  • Members of these groups genuinely care about each other. They reach out to each other to develop and maintain their relationships. They respect and appreciate each other.
  • They connect on social media, commenting on and sharing posts.
  • They make a point of introducing group members to potential clients and referral partners.
  • The leadership within each of the groups puts the members first. They approach their leadership role with a generosity of spirit.

Ways for You to Celebrate Your Communities on Social Media

  • Periodically, take photos of the group when you are together. With the members’ permission, share these photos in posts on social media.
  • Highlight the contributions of group leaders and other members via social media. For example, reference the person in a social media post or a comment on a post. Tag them as part of this process.
  • Write a review of the person’s business on their Facebook business page or write a LinkedIn recommendation for them.
  • Honor their milestones, such as by commenting on a post they wrote when they got a new job or a promotion, or when they celebrated an anniversary of starting their business.
  • If you used their services or bought a product of theirs, write a post about your customer experience on social media.
  • If you are part of an organization with guest speakers, invite selected group members to speak at a meeting of the organization. Promote their speaking engagement on social media and celebrate it afterward.
